Cultural Anthropology: Our Diverse World introduces the central concepts, concerns, and research methods of cultural anthropology. This course takes a cross-cultural approach to diverse subject areas, including subsistence patterns, political organization, the family, social organization, economics, kinship, language, the arts, and religion. As Cultural Anthropology: Our Diverse World explores the various ways in which the human species has responded to the fundamental challenges of survival, students will gain a greater appreciation for the ways in which anthropologists work to study the cultural and biological aspects of humankind within the widest possible context, by employing a mix of theoretical perspectives and methodologies.
Instructors seeking an enriched multimedia experience for students can add Cultural Anthropology: Our Diverse World Online as a required web component to supplement their curriculum. Students complete the online portion of the course in the interactive learning environment using the embedded activities for practice or assignment at the discretion of the instructor.
There is NO FEE charged to instructors or institutions when an online course from Coast Learning Systems is adopted. The same holds true for instructors wishing to add our online course to a hybrid, blended, or traditional course. Students must purchase a one-time use serial access number. Serial number packages are available directly from Coast Learning Systems. Codes can be ordered as a bundle, with a complete set of video lessons on DVD or separately without the DVDs. The bundled option is provided for students who do not have Internet access capable of supporting streaming media.
