This all new, completely redesigned online lab, laboratory manual, and specimen kit replaces the Geology Laboratory for Distance Learners by Coast Learning Systems & J. Ruhle.
Geology Laboratory for Distance Learners will not be available after 8/15/11 or upon exhaustion of remaining inventory.
Introductory Physical Geology Laboratory for Distance Learning, manual and laboratory kit, is part of an intensive laboratory course that explores the basic concepts and principles of physical geology. Each lesson includes specific learning objectives that students should use to prepare for the lab. The lab manual includes exercise and procedures that illuminate the central principles of physical geology. Each lab lesson includes questions designed to help students analyze, review, and apply knowledge of the material covered in the lab course. Reading the lab manual, watching the video clips and completing the activities in the online component, and completing the lab exercises will provide the student with a learning experience equivalent to a traditional on-campus offering.
The online portion of Introductory Physical Geology Laboratory for Distance Learning is hosted by Coast Learning Systems. The content is presented in Moodle, and instructors can customize the course, reorder content, “turn off” content, and/or add their own content, exercises, and assessments. Students access the online content via your CMS/LMS. A one-time use serial number is provided on the inside front cover the laboratory manual; therefore, each student must purchase a lab kit. Coast Learning Systems will provide instructors with a unique URL for linking.
Please feel free to contact Coast Learning Systems for more information, (800) 547-4748. Sample kits should be requested from Kendall Hunt Publishing Company. Please contact Deb at (800) 247-3458, ext. #5.
